The body doesn't know a simulated experience from a real one. Dry fire is an excellent way for you to work on all the necessary skills that help build your kinetic techniques.
 
When practicing dry fire or when out on the range, it's incredibly important for us to train the "right way". What is the right way?
 
Decision-making during training is crucial: this is part of kinetic skill training and can be built into your dry fire.
 
Pivoting draws at home:
Have a clock in your house? You can dry fire! Face away from the clock, set a timer on your phone for 5 seconds. Once your phone goes off, look at the clock to determine if the second hand is about to be on an even or an odd number. If it's about to touch an even number, then draw and shoot while pivoting. If it's an odd number, don't even reach for your gun. You can choose to "shoot" the clock, or you can have another primary target. It's also a good idea to incorporate mag changes and secondary targets in this drill as well! This will help force you to assess your target before you reach for your firearm.
